Pressure sand filter is used for omitting mud and insoluble suspended particles in water, and carbon filter is used for omitting flavor, odor, color, organic substances and free chlorine.
In sand filter, water passes through silica rock bed and its suspended particles and insoluble impurities up to 50 micron size remain in the holes of the sand. This process ultimately omits water cloudiness. For better performance of pressure sand filtering, it is recommended to use clogging materials before letting water into the filter. The sand filters need backwash after some time of usage. In order to push out the suspended particles from silica bed in sand filter, the backwash process could be performed manually, semi-automatically and full automatically.
In carbon filter, water is passed through the active granular carbon coal bed and its color and odor is absorbed by carbon coal as a result, the exiting water is free from flavor, odor and color. The carbon filters are usually placed in the water purification process after sand filters.
